The vision of REPRC-EfD Nigeria is to be a key research and policy advocacy centre in Sub-Saharan Africa with major focus on Nigeria; training students that will act as change agents in Nigeria and the regional environment sector; implementing cutting-edge researches that will have both local and global impact; while providing evidence-based input into policy formulation and advocacy towards solving the myriads of environmental and economic development problems in Nigeria and the region.

Major areas of contribution

REPRC-EfD Nigeria focuses on major environmental and economic challenges that affect Sub-Saharan Africa, with bias to Nigeria, in the areas of agriculture, ecosystem and natural resources, climate change, energy and pollution.  Fighting poverty and increasing equality are prioritized areas.


The Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre, EfD Nigeria is located in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State Nigeria. The Centre was established  in 2018 by the University of Nigeria Nsukka (  to advance  interdisciplinary research, capacity building and policy advocacy on the different dimensions of  environmental and resource economics. The Centre is managed by a Director. It has 14 Research Fellows, an Administrative Officer, a Communication Officer and a Data Manager.
