Workshop Discusses the Impacts and Profitability of Biofuel in Ethiopia

A half-day workshop was organized by the Environmental Economics Policy Forum for Ethiopia on Impacts and Profitability of Biofuel in Ethiopia on September 14, 2012 in Addis Ababa. Various stakeholders from governmental and non-governmental organizations as well as from the academia and research institutions participated on this informative workshop.

 

 

Researchers from EEPFE, AAU and University of Gothenburg in Sweden presented findings on the following topics:

  • Economy-wide Impact of Bio-fuels Investments: An overview of global perspectives and analytical frameworks employed Jorgen – Jorgen Levin
  • CGE model and simulation scenarios – Fantu Guta
  • Impacts of biofuels investment on food security, economic growth, external sector, and poverty reduction in Ethiopia – Tadele Ferede
  • Biofuels investment and environment (GHG emissions) – Fantu Guta
  • Profitability analysis of biofuels investment in Ethiopia – Zenebe Gebreegziabher
