Environment issues are important for the Dalai Lama – EfD researchers got an audience

During the CECFEE Annual Workshop and EPfD meeting, the participants were fortunate to get an audience with the Dalai Lama and receive his blessings. This was only possible because of the work the organization does on environmental issues, which are close to his heart, and the sincere efforts of the CECFEE team and the kind cooperation of his office, given the very short notice to confirm this audience.

The researchers who were able to meet his Holiness feel fortunate to get this opportunity and will remember this as one of the great lifetime experiences! The 14th Dalai Lama is known as Gyalwa Rinpoche by the Tibetan people. He is the highest spiritual leader for the Tibetans and the former head of the country of Tibet. The Indian government offered him refuge in Dharamsala, where he set up the Government of Tibet-in-exile in 1960, while McLeodganj became his official residence and also home to several Buddhist monasteries and thousands of Tibetan refugees. He has been the recipient of several awards including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and also has a tremendous following around the World.
