García, Jorge H.
Jorge H. García is Associate Professor at the School of Management at Universidad de Los Andes and Senior Research Fellow of EfD Colombia. He holds a PhD in Economics from University of Gothenburg (2007). He is also a Research Associate of EPRU, the Environmental-Economics Policy Research Unit at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Research interests
His research interests are the design and evaluation of environmental policy instruments in areas such as energy, manufacturing, and forestry. His research has mainly been on the enterprise and policy instruments for industrial and agricultural pollution control, which includes traditional regulation, tradable emissions permits, and public disclosure. Recently he has been involved in projects that use concepts and methodologies from behavioral economics.

Grants and consultancy
He has been granted funding from National Academy of Sciences NAS (USA), The Research Council of Norway RCN and Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and Swedish International Development Agency SIDA.
Policy engagement
He has somewhat regular participation in capacity building courses for representatives from both private and public sectors. He has been involved in discussions on carbon pricing and currently leading a project on how to integrate international transfers for forest conservation in local ETS.
