The topic is Financing the transition to safe, affordable, and resilient water and sanitation services in Nairobi: A co-developed policy research agenda. For over a decade, the EfD Kenya research team was instrumental in advancing water affordability and access in Nairobi, through significant policy engagement and research collaboration with the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company. The team’s work led to crucial policy changes, including reducing water tariffs at public kiosks, benefitting approximately 31% of Nairobi’s population. Their efforts represent a remarkable example of how long-term research and policy engagement can positively impact urban water services, benefiting poor communities. During this webinar, you will learn more about their results and collaboration.
The full team consists of EfD researchers Richard Mulwa, Jane Mariara, Peter Kimuyu, Jackson Otieno, David Fuente, and Joe Cook, and Mbutu Mwaura and Josiah Gitu from Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company.
