Short Biography
Dr. Timothy King Avordeh is a distinguished Sustainable Energy Economist and Academic Leader with over 12 years of experience in research, policy analysis, and higher education. He holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Management and currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow and Coordinator of the Distance Learning Programme at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he also leads the Research Compliance Unit. Dr. Avordeh is also a Research Fellow with the Sustainable Energy Transition Initiative (SETI) at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
His research focuses on energy systems modeling, demand response, climate resilience, and the intersection of governance, energy management, and energy poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has published extensively in high-impact journals such as Energy Reports, Renewable Energy Focus, Energy for Sustainable Development, and Heliyon. He is also the author of several academic textbooks, including Statistics for Decision Making and A Comprehensive Guide to Grant Writing: From Discovery to Decision.
Dr. Avordeh has led significant projects, including a nationwide electricity tariff study for Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC), and has contributed to policy development through roles such as CEO of the Madina Centre for Education Policy. He is an active reviewer for numerous international journals and a certified Research4Life Master Trainer. His work continues to bridge academic research, policy formulation, and sustainable energy transition in Africa.
