Basic Climate Science 2 part 1

The Science, ethics, and economics of climate change  is a PhD course held at Gothenburg University, spring 2014. This is the first of a series of PhD courses which we will record, edit and post on www.efdinitiative.org, free for everyone interested. This second lecture is given by Martin Persson, Assistant Professor at Physical Resource Theory at Department of Energy & Environment at Chalmers University of Technology.

  1. What is the greenhouse effect and how does it affect the earth’s temperature?
  2. How does temperature change as you move up in the atmosphere, and why?
  3. Why is the temperature profile in the atmosphere essential for the greenhouse effect?
