Sterner speaks at Beijing Forum

Thomas Sterner, professor in environmental economics and EfD research fellow, speaks at the Beijing Forum which is the biggest public event organized annually by Peking University. A large number of prominent Chinese and foreign academics and politicians will participate. For instance Tony Blair Sterner, former prime minister of the UK, Jim Hansen, lead scientist at NASA, and Enesto Zedillo, former president of Mexico.

This year Beijing Forum takes place on November 5-6, 2010.  Thomas Sterner will speak on November 6 on climate policy after Copenhagen and in the run up to Cancun. The title of his talk is “Addressing Global Environmental Challenges: Policies and Actions”.

Sterner will also be interviewed by China Business News.

EfD research fellow Jessica Coria, and EfD Associate Maria Damon participate as panelists at the Beijing Forum.

Since its inception in 2004, Beijing Forum has been organized annually by Peking university in order to promote the study of the humanities and social sciences in the Asia-Pacific region with a view to facilitating international academic exchanges and transcultural discussions that can lead to social progress around the world.

Beijing Forum is endorsed by the State Council of the People´s Republic of China, supported by the Beijing Municipal Government, and co-hosted by Peking University, The Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and the Korean Foundation for Advanced Studies.
