Kick-off meeting for new participants of the Inclusive Green Economy program

EfD Ethiopia organized a half-day kick-off meeting for the new cohort of the Inclusive Green Economy (IGE) capacity development program on April 12. The meeting aimed to introduce the program to the new IGE fellows, provide insights into the IGE framework and foster networking among participants.

The kick-off meeting welcomed senior civil servants from government organizations: Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), Ministry of Lowlands and Irrigation (MoLI), Ministry of Finance (MoF), and Ethiopian Forest Development (EFD). These new IGE fellows will engage in capacity development activities focusing on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) during the 2025 period.

The meeting provided an overview of the IGE program, emphasizing its objectives and the expected outcomes. Participants were informed about the program’s thematic focus on CSA and the opportunities for professional growth and contribution to Ethiopia’s green economy transition.

To ignite passion and motivation in the new cohort, the meeting showcased the accomplishments of previous IGE fellows (alumni). The alumni have significantly influenced policy through their projects, demonstrating the program’s impact on national development. The kick-off meeting successfully set the stage for new IGE fellows’ journey, aligning them with the program’s goals.
