EfD Members Adolf Mkenda and Razack Lokina conducted training

The Regional Experts Training course on Ecosystem workshop held in Maputo, Mozambique for three days from 30th November to 2nd December 2011.

The workshop drew participants from the Eastern and South African countries that are signatories of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) –Nairobi convention. The countries include; Kenya, United Republic Tanzania, Mozambique, Republic of South Africa, Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoro, and France (for the Reunion Island)

The Training Workshop was an interdisciplinary course that focused on the development and implementation of ecosystem approaches to the management of human activities and their impacts on the coastal and marine environment. The course was delivered through presentations by practitioners with expertise in relevant fields

Adolf and Razack offered courses on Valuation Techniques, Governance and Multilateral arrangements for Environment Management. After the training workshop

Adolf also attended the sixteen meeting of the Ad hoc legal and Technical working group on Intergraded Coastal Zone management protocol to the Nairobi Convention from 5th to 7th December 2011
