SLU is searching for a Doctoral student to join the Department of Forest Economics at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå. Traditional land management will likely need to incorporate new practices to enhance the capacity of Swedish forests to cope with a changing climate. However, there is a current knowledge gap in the understanding of how private forest owners’ perceptions and ultimate acceptability of management practices such as continuous cover forestry to increase the multi-functionality and sustainability of forest ecosystems.

The Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) has launched a new call for applications for the Africa Fellows in Education Program 2023/2024.
This initiative aims to build a group of African-based leaders capable of developing evidence and shaping educational policies that are relevant to their countries.
The program enables the fellows to participate in a two-year research and policy development fellowship that introduces them both to relevant research and analytical experiences and to international networks of researchers and policy advisers.
The School of Social Sciences at Heriot-Watt University is offering a number of full-time PhD studentships to start in September 2023. Studentships include a tuition fee waiver and an annual stipend currently set at £17,668. The duration of the studentships is three years. The School of Social Sciences also offers a research support allowance of £2,250 over the registered period of study. In addition, full-time scholarship holders are normally offered an opportunity to undertake paid teaching support each academic year.
