Zanders, Marianne

Marianne is a Professor of Environmental Economics at the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University. Her main focus is on the non-market valuation of ecosystem services benefits, cost-effectiveness, and cost-benefit analyses applied to different types of habitats with regard to recreational ecosystem services, water quality, climate mitigation, climate adaptation, and biodiversity. Marianne also works with i) extending shared socio-economic pathways (SSPs) from a global scale to a national or regional scale for use in integrated assessments of regional environmental problems; ii) the concept of a Nature-Positive Economy and how to operationalise a transition that leaves noone behind; and iii) REDD+ and commodity supply chains in relation to farmer livelihoods, tenure and governance of forest landscapes.
