Nainggolan, Doan

Doan Nainggolan is a senior researcher in ecological and environmental economics at the Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University. His work is driven by a strong interest in applied, policy relevant research that addresses critical sustainability challenges. He focuses on areas such as nature-based solutions, nature positive economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation, the circular economy, and broader sustainability issues in both rural agricultural and urban settings. His interdisciplinary approach combines a range of quantitative methods, including integrated ecological and environmental economic modelling, econometrics, stated preference modelling, cost minimisation modelling, and environmental cost benefit analysis. Drawing on diverse data sources such as cross sectional and panel data, as well as spatial, climate, farm, and household survey data, he generates evidence to support effective and equitable sustainability solutions.
