Gomez, Julián

Julian Gomez is lecturer at the School of Management at the University of los Andes and Junior Research Fellow of EfD Colombia. Recently, he was the Project Coordinator of an initiative financed by the Environmental Defense Fund to integrate international carbon markets, such as REDD+ Jurisdictional programs, with other climate mitigation policies in Colombia. He holds a MA and BA in economics from the same university. 

In the past, he was researcher and consultant for the Business History Journal, The Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE Costa Rica), The Center for Studies on Economic Development (CEDE) and the School of Management at the University of los Andes.  

Research interests 

His research interests are related to development economics, environmental economics and technological change. 

Mentoring 

He has mentored undergraduate students at the Department of Industrial Engineering at los Andes University. 

Policy engagement 

Environmental Defense Fund consultancy: project coordinator jurisdictional REDD+ and national ETS integration in Colombia.
