Chukwuma, Ume Otum

Chukwuma Ume is a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nigeria. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Agricultural Policy and Market Research at Justus Liebig University in Germany, graduating Magna cum Laude. He also holds a master's degree in Environment and Development from the Sustainability Research Institute at the University of Leeds, and a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics (First Class and Overall Best Graduating Student of the University, 2013/2014 session). He received the Right Livelihood Junior Research Scientist Award in Environmental and Resource Management from the Center for Environment and Development Research (ZEF) at the UN Campus of the University of Bonn. He is currently a postdoc at the Institute of Agricultural Policy and Market Research at Justus Liebig University in Germany.

Research Interest

Chukwuma’s research interests include Agroecology, climate change adaptation and modeling of Socio-Ecological Systems

Chukwuma has supervised and graduated 7 MSc students. He currently supervises 4 MSc students and 1 PhD student.
