Afshari, Tina

Tina Afshari is the project coordinator for the SDG 8 Initiative. The University of Gothenburg has led the International Association of Universities (IAU) Global Cluster on SDG 8 since 2019. The initiative involves three faculties and many researchers from the University of Gothenburg, as well as nine satellite universities, where many also host EfD centers. The initiative’s goal is to mobilize academic efforts and foster policy engagement to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. 

In addition to her role with the SDG 8 Initiative, Tina also works with the Global Program at the EfD Global Hub and is the secretary for the Advisory Board and the Coordination Committee.

Tina has international experience working as a program manager for the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) at the Swedish Embassy in Bogotá, Colombia. Prior to her role at the EfD, she was working at the University of Gothenburg, at several different faculties coordinating tasks related to operational strategies, work plans, annual reporting, and the faculty board.
