Professorship (W2) for "Climate Change and Development" at RWl's policy lab "Climate Change, Development and Migration"

The Faculty of Economics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is offering a tenured position as associate professor (W2) for "Climate Change and Development" in a joint appointment with RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research (according to the "Jülicher Modell"), implying the status of a civil servant, while being an active member of RWl's Economic Policy Lab "Climate Change, Development and Migration".

RWI - Leibniz Institute for Economic Research is an independent, non-profit research institution with its headquarters in Essen, Germany. The institute is a leading center for scientific research and evidence-based policy advice in Germany. RWl's newly founded Policy Lab "Climate Change, Development and Migration" conducts research on environmental policies, labor markets, and migration in the Global South as well as the economics of immigration in the Global North. In a wide range of applied research projects, the policy lab cooperates closely with a wide network of academic partners, governments, and international organizations in both the Global South and North. The unifying objective is to improve the effectiveness of pro-poor climate, development, and migration policies.

Candidates are expected to have a broad research profile in the area of climate change, environmental, and development economics. We are looking for a person with outstanding credentials in this research field and an international network. The research performance should be proven by relevant publications in leading international journals. Success in the acquisition of competitive third-party funding and relevant international experience is required. Experience in economic policy advice, in guiding young academics, in public relations as well as in leading larger research projects is desirable. The candidate has to meet the appointment requirements according to section 36 ff. Hochschulgesetz NW.
