Applications are invited for a permanent Lecturer/Assistant Professor post in Environmental Economics and Policy. This is a permanent position. Applicants must have a PhD in environmental economics and policy; a commitment to evidence-based research and a high-quality publication record; a strong quantitative research and teaching ability; a capacity for graduate student supervision; a commitment to high-quality university-level teaching; an enthusiasm for working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary context to promote policy impact; a team player with excellent interpersonal skills; and, a level of awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion. Methodological research interests and an ability to teach environmental economics, behavioural economics, policy analysis and environmental policy design are mandatory requirements.
The UCD Environmental Policy Group are internationally recognised for expertise and experience in the direct application of environmental economics research into the policy development process. The Group has provided direct policy advice to, inter alia, the Japanese Government, Irish Government, European Commission, European Environment Agency, OECD and World Bank. The UCD Environmental Policy Group are also members of Environment for Development (EfD), a global academic network of environmental economists focused on capacity development, research and policy engagement to address problems at the intersection of poverty, the environment and climate change in the Global South.
The successful candidate will join a strong team and contribute to teaching on BSc and MSc programmes in Environmental Policy as well as contributing to modules of relevance to the College of Engineering and Architecture and the wider university. The successful candidate will be willing to act as a future programme director and contribute to delivery of executive education.
