Workshop on Climate Policies in LMICs

CPfD co-leaders, Profs. E. Somanathan, Jan Steckel and Thomas Sterner organised a workshop on climate policies for LMICs at the European Association of Environmental & Resource Economists (EAERE) Conference in June 2025, Bergen, Norway.

The workshop explored the application of climate mitigation policies in LMICs focusing on how institutional capacity, economic structures, and social dynamics influence policy design and implementation. The speakers included academics from universities in Europe and US, including Dr. Carolyn Fischer, World Bank, and Prof. Thomas Sterner (University of Gothenburg). Raavi Aggarwal presented research findings from the EfD Collaborative Study on “Optimal emissions pricing in low- and middle-income countries.”
