Job Summary
This Post-Doctoral Fellowship will enable a recent doctorate recipient to use and expand Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) extraordinary resources to tackle complex environmental issues. FGCU Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Economics, supported by Education & General revenue funds, provides the opportunity for an early-career environmental economist to undertake intensive research on environmental and resource economics and policy. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in both the Department of Economics & Finance, and The Water School, while also strengthening connections across the University's academic disciplines.
This is a two-year postdoctoral position, starting in the Fall/Spring 2022. There may be an opportunity for a third-year renewal of the fellowship, but additional funding is not yet secured.

Job Description
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists faculty research mentor with research project.
- Duties may vary depending on research project and discipline.
- Topics may include all areas of water management and policy, natural resource use, nonmarket valuation, health economics, environmental efficiency, environmental policy, agricultural policy, food policy, energy policy and climate change.

Minimum Requirements:
- Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) required by start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Environmental Economics, or a related field by start date.
- Research experience on environmental economics
- Experience in conducting field and community-based research
- Ability to undertake policy analysis, evaluation and advocacy
- Ability to undertake environmental and productivity analysis
- Data analysis experience with spatial data sets
- Experience in writing grant proposals for research funding
- At least 4 years of experience in teaching environmental economics at a graduate level
