Energy Policies and Plans of Ethiopia: Opportunities for Cooperation between Ethiopia and South Korea

The workshop is organized by the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and the Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) of South Korea.

The
two Institutes have established partnership to engage in research and capacity
building in the energy sector since June 2011. This first study aims at taking
stock of current Ethiopia’s energy policies and plans in the various sectors
from short to longer time horizon. By so
doing, the research ultimately attempts to identify possible opportunities for
cooperation between the two countries in Ethiopia’s energy sector development
and use, including energy policies and future directions, hydro power and
geothermal development, renewable energy development, development plan and
strategies for fossil fuels and related minerals. There will also be two presentations from the
Korean side.

Participation by invitation only
