Wisdom Akpalu was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA) in University of Pretoria but has recently moved to the USA. Wisdom Akpalu has an extensive research interest within the broader area of natural resource management, health economics and experimental economics.
Heidi J. Albers (Jo) is the Knobloch Wyoming Excellence Chair in Conservation Economics and Finance in the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources and the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Wyoming. She collaborates with EfD in Tanzania and Central America in the areas of forest, marine, and wildlife conservation and management.
Yonas Alem is currently a research fellow at the Department of Economics, University of Gothenburg, where he received his PhD in Economics. He is also the research Director of the EfD network where he undertakes duties of reviewing research proposals, research deliverables and submissions for EfD discussion paper series by researchers in the network.
Tekie Alemu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Environmental Economics Policy Forum for Ethiopia which is housed at the Ethiopian Development Research Institute. He was also the Dean of School of Economics and assistant professor at Addis Ababa University. He specializes in environmental and resource economics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in 1999.
Francisco Alpízar is Director of Research at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Costa Rica. He is also a Senior Research Fellow of the Environment for Development Initiative. His research explores incentive based approaches to improve private and public management and use of natural resource.
Marcela Alveal provides administrative and secretarial support to the Research Nucleus in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics. She coordinates the logistics and provides support to the research activities. She also gives secretarial support to the Departamento de Economía, Universidad de Concepción.
Jessica Alvsilver is currently employed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency where she assesses and advices on environmental policy including the design and evaluation of policy instruments and the valuation of ecosystem services. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from University of Gothenburg. Her research areas include welfare and development economics and valuation.
Sahleselassie Amare is a Research Officer and GIS analysis specialist at ECRC. He holds BSc. in Agriculture from Mekelle University and MSc. in Geo-information Science and Earth Observation from ITC (Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation), University of Twente.

Berihu Assefa Gebrehiwot is a Senior Associate Researcher at the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI). He specializes in Development Economics and his research more broadly features the application of microeconomics and micro-econometrics to the policy analyses of economic development problems in developing countries in general and Ethiopia in particular.

Banga is a Lecturer at the Institute of Statistics and Applied Economics, Makerere University. She holds a PhD (Economics) from the University of Dar-es-salaam obtained in 2008. At the PhD level, she specialised in Environmental Economics and her Thesis was on “Economics of Solid Waste Management. The Case of Kampala City, Uganda”.
