Ntiyakunze, Matilda Stanslaus

Matilda Stanslaus Ntiyakunze is a lecturer of economics at Ardhi University in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She is also part of the EfD Young Career Training on Stakeholder Interaction and Policy Engagement in Research Processes.

She holds a Ph.D. degree (Economics) from the Lulea University of Technology, Sweden. Her former position includes working as a banking officer at the Bank of Africa in Tanzania. Where she worked as a trainee in the departments of corporate banking, credit banking, and treasury. forest dependence, energy, food security, natural gas, and environmental valuation.

Mentoring

 

Supervision of 1 PhD student on natural gas exploration, and 3 master students.

 

Grants and consultancy

  • Gas exploration and induced population migration in southern Tanzania: implications on crops production and livelihood of households, SIDA, 2015-2018.
  • Increasing the sustainability of urban foodscapes through agri-food entrepreneurship in Dar es Salam. Sub-Project 3 under VLIR-UOS programme, 2022-2027.
  • Impact of Carbon Trading Schemes on Mangrove Forest Ecosystem Services and Household Welfare: Evidence from East African Coastal Communities, EfD, 2023-2024.
