GMV’s Environmental Economics and Policy group
GMV’s Environmental Economics and Policy group collaborates with universities, research institutes, government agencies and non-governmental organizations, in Sweden and internationally. It maintains a particularly close relationship and collaboration with the Environmental Economics Unit at the School of Business, Economics, and Law, University of Gothenburg.
Based on environmental economics analysis and strategic environmental assessment GMV’s Environmental Economics and Policy group provides policy analyses, investigations, assessments and advice for sustainable development.
Amongst others, the Environmental Economics and Policy group assists Sida - the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – in integrating environmental perspectives into Swedish development cooperation through Sida's Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change. The helpdesk supports Sida with advice and strategic guidance on environment and climate change issues in country strategies, policies, programs and projects, capacity building and dialogue on environmental issues.
The Environmental Economics and Policy group also supports Sida in international processes linked with e.g. OECD, UN organizations, the World Bank, and local organizations.
The Group also conducts research on the role of institutions for Environmental policy integration and teaches courses on Strategic Environmental Assessment.
