Edwin Muchapondwa
Edwin Muchapondwa is currently a senior lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of Cape Town and a research fellow & coordinator for the Environmental Policy Research Unit (EPRU). His current teaching areas are environmental and natural resource economics, microeconomics and econometrics.
His current research deals with community-based and transboundary natural resource management, bioregional wildlife conservation and valuation of non-market environmental amenities. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in September 2003. His Ph.D. dissertation is titled "The Economics of Community-based Wildlife Conservation in Zimbabwe." Edwin has previously taught at the University of Zimbabwe and has been a visiting lecturer at the African Economic Research Consortium administered Joint Facility for Electives (JFE) for the Collaborative MA Program in Economics for Anglophone Africa.
