Mahmud Yesuf is currently the coordinator and senior research fellow of the Environmental Economics Policy Forum for Ethiopia (EEPFE) and an assistant professor at the Department of Economics of Addis Ababa University. His fields of specialization are environmental and resource economics, experimental economics, environmental valuation, applied microeconomics and development economics. His current research deals with land management and technology adoption: production risk, risk aversion and crop productivity in Ethiopia. Mahmud has been working on various joint research collaborations with the World Bank, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Department for International Development (DFID), and the University of Maryland on issues related to sustainable land management and climate change. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in November 2004. His dissertation is entitled Risk, Time and Land Management under Market Imperfections: Applications to Ethiopia. So far, his research outputs have been published in Agricultural Economics and as World Bank thematic papers. A number of other papers are under review for publication in other journals.
