Wisdom Akpalu was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA) in University of Pretoria but has recently moved to the USA. Wisdom Akpalu has an extensive research interest within the broader area of natural resource management, health economics and experimental economics. His current research focuses on economics of illegal fishing, resource use-conflicts, invasive species and biodiversity management, common pool resource experiments, economics of self-medication, tenure insecurity and soil conservation, and agriculture and climate change in developing countries. His paper on “Individual Discount Rate and Regulatory Compliance in a Developing Country Fishery” was awarded the IIFET 2006 best student paper Prize.
Wisdom Akpalu was an EEU-Sida PhD scholar, and obtained his PhD in September 2006.
