Dr. James Njogu is currently working in the Kenya Wildlife Service as the Head of Conventions, Biotechnology and Information Management and is also a research associate for the Environment for Development initiative in Kenya.

He has a great interest in natural resource management and environmental conservation and he is involved in policy analysis on biodiversity conservation in the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity. He holds a PhD from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands and did a publication on ‘Community-based conservation in an entitlement perspective: wildlife and forest biodiversity conservation in Taita, Kenya’, with the African Studies Centre, Leiden, Netherlands. He has been involved in several community projects within and outside Kenya and has authored several publications.
