Dr. Moses Ikiara is the Executive Director of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA), which is a public think tank mandated to support the public policy process in Kenya by conducting independent and objective policy research and analysis, and through capacity building. Previously, he worked as Analyst and Senior Analyst at KIPPRA, and as Lecturer at the School of Environmental Studies in Moi University. Dr. Ikiara obtained his PhD from the University of Amsterdam in environmental and natural resource economics. His previous academic qualifications include Bsc. (Agriculture) and MA (Economics), both from the University of Nairobi. Dr. Ikiara has vast experience in policy research and analysis, having researched on diverse development issues in the seven years he has worked at KIPPRA. In addition, he has published widely on issues such in fisheries, cotton-textile industry, trade in services and in environmental goods and services, tourism, solid waste management, and environmental policy.
