Tekie Alemu is currently a research fellow at the Environmental Economics Policy Forum for Ethiopia which is housed at the Ethiopian Development Research Institute. He is also the A/Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics and an assistant professor in the Department of Economics. He specializes in environmental economics and resource economics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in 1999. The title of his dissertation is ‘Land tenure and soil conservation: Evidence from Ethiopia’. Currently, his research focuses on rural land tenure and land administration issues in Ethiopia.
