Håkan Eggert is currently chairman of the undergraduate environmental social science program and of the masters program in environmental management and economics at the University of Gothenburg. His fields of specialization are environmental and resource economics and the interface of environmental and development economics. His current research deals with resource use and management of resources. More specifically, he often looks at various aspects of utilizing and managing aquatic resources. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in May 2001 and became Associate Professor in February 2007. His dissertation titled Essays on Fisheries deals with various aspects of commercial fishing, e.g., bioeconomics, population dynamics, technical efficiency and production under risk. His research has been published in inter alia American Journal of Agricultural Economics, Land Economics, Environment and Resource Economics, Marine Resource Economics and ICES Journal of Marine Science.
