Stephen Kirama
Stephen Kirama [Cert (Philososphy);B.A (hons); M.A in Economics; Dar] is Assistant Lecturer, Department of Economics University of Dar es Salaam. He has taught Public Sector Economics, Labour Economics, Economic Policy, Planning and Programming; Intermediate Macroeconomics and Quantitative Methods. Mr Kirama is a doctoral student at the Department of Economics University of Dar es Salaam, writing his thesis titled: “The Impact of Public Spending and Growth on Poverty in Tanzania: Household Level Data Analysis” Before joining the Department of Economics, Mr Kirama worked as a Senior Economist at Tanzania Meteorological Agency under the then Ministry of Communications and Transport.
Mr. Kirama interest in research is on Public Spending, Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development (EE&ESD). His expertise on research area is: Poverty Analysis; Environmental Economics, Public Spending; Fisheries Economics and Forestry. Amongst the ongoing work in research at the centre is titled: Assessing Tanzania’s Marine Protected Areas: Incentives, Opportunities and constraints.
