Laura Villalobos
Laura is research fellow of the Environment and Development initiative Center for Central America. She has Bachelor Degree on Economics and she has also achieved a Master’s degree in environmental socioeconomics at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) where she now teaches. She worked at the University of Costa Rica assisting in relevant consultancies required by different public institutions and has also experience working in gender consultancies for the National Institute of Women in Costa Rica. She is particularly interested in economic policy instrument’s evaluation in environmental and social aspects, including conservation policies, health, and climate change. She has more than three years of experience evaluating countries’ conservation policies in terms of communities’ development in Costa Rica and Mexico.
