This is a guest speech when Prof Xu was attending the OECD Roundtable for Sustainable Development, January 8-9, 2007, Paris.

His speech covers the following points:
No 1: How does China fare in the world timber market and what is the concern, outside and within China;
No 2: Recent government actions related to forest product trade;
No 3: Policy changes in China that have longer term impact both domestically and internationally;
