The Environmental Economics Unit (EEU), University of Gothenburg, was given the honor to host the 16th Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE, www.eaere.org).

The annual conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists is one of the most important meeting opportunities for environmental economists from all over the world.
Six hundred researchers from 49 countries (of which many are developing countries) participated, in addition to many Swedish and other European policy makers and officials in the environmental arena.
The conference was open to all topics within the field but had a special focus on environmental issues in developing countries and climate change. Four hundred and fifty scientific articles were presented under themes such as Agriculture, Biodiversity, Climate, Eco-labelling, Energy, Fishery, Forestry, Health, Policy instruments, Water issues, Sustainable investments and Trade.
