EfD Colombia holds active discussions with stakeholders about air quality problems in Bogotá

During the first semester of 2018, EfD researcher Jorge Bonilla has been actively involved in discussions about air quality in Bogotá with stakeholders. The Group of citizens for air quality in Bogotá (MECAB in Spanish) provides an opportunity for citizens, researchers and representatives of the local council to discuss the air pollution problems of the city. The members of the group meet every two months and some of the meetings have been at Universidad de Los Andes, which is the host institution of EfD Colombia. In the first semester of 2018, the Group has sent a letter to Bogota’s mayor to communicate the importance of creating incentives for the participation of renewable technologies in the auction to replace 1400 buses of Transmilenio (Bogota’s BRT).
