Greetings from the 4th Annual Meeting of the Environment for Development Initiative, this time held in Addis Ababa/Kuriftu, Ethiopia! A “policy day” at the UNECA Africa Hall gave an opportunity to present successful research – policy interactions to a broad audience. We also learned that the initiative has led to an amazing 213 publications so far, out of which 66 are international peer reviewed journal articles, 129 discussion papers and 18 book chapters. About 50 researchers are now busy discussing future research collaborations and policy impact here in Kuriftu. Some of their recent outputs can be found below. It consists of centers in Central America, China, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, and Tanzania, in partnership with the Environmental Economics Unit at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and Resources for the Future in Washington, DC. Financial support is provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). |
