- 2012-10-31 Annual World Bank Conference on Land and Poverty, April 2013. The World Bank invites the submission of abstracts (between 800 and 1500 words) on the theme "Moving towards transparent land governance: Evidence-based next steps.” The deadline is November 15th, 2012. The conference will be held at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, D.C., on April 8-11, 2013. This is a great opportunity for EfD researchers to reach out to policy makers, implementing organizations and donors.

Holden and Andrea Mannberg, was given the "Uma Lele’s Award to Best Contributed Paper on Gender" at the International Conference of Agricultural Economists (IAAE).

- 2012-10-15 Climate negotiations relying on “dangerous” thresholds will not succeed The identified critical threshold for dangerous climate change saying that the increase in global temperature should be below 2 degrees Celsius seems not to have helped the climate negotiations so far. New research shows that negotiations based on such a threshold fail because its value is determined by Nature and is inherently uncertain. Climate negotiators should therefore focus on other collective strategies.
