- 2012-11-26 EPRU provides advice on fisheries management It has been a matter of concern for some time that much of the institutional memory of fisheries management and policy guiding attempts to conserve the resource, has been located in a small number of persons. Many of these are close to retirement or indeed retired, and many of the younger persons have moved into the private sector or emigrated.

- 2012-11-09 Sesync Funding Opportunities: Thematic Pursuits The National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) is a new national research center supported by the National Science Foundation through a grant to the University of Maryland. SESYNC funds the world’s leading social scientists, natural scientists, and humanities scholars to travel to the Annapolis facility and work intensively in small trans-disciplinary groups to advance fundamental research on socio-environmental problems. Computational science is also supported by the center.
- 2012-11-07 Sterner works on the next IPCC Report on Climate Change Professor Thomas Sterner is one of the experts from 56 countries who are currently working in Vigo, Spain, on the next Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment report on climate change. The report will be released in 2014 to inform policymakers about response strategies in the area of climate change mitigation in a policy-relevant, but not policy-prescriptive way.
- 2012-11-07 | ethiopia | Climate change Presenting Ethiopia’s Green Growth Strategy Environmental Economics Policy Forum for Ethiopia (EEPFE) Research fellow Dr. Abebe Damte presented the Ethiopian Green Growth Strategy at the International Conference on “Sustainable Development, Social Welfare, and Structural Transformation: Does Green Economy Offer New Perspectives?” which was held in Dakar, Senegal from Nov 5-6, 2012. The conference was organized by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stifung and ENDA and it aimed at assessing if the Green Economy offers new perspectives in the efforts targeting sustainable development in Africa.
