- 2010-02-26 "Kenya's natural resources need economic instruments" EfD researchers invited to public hearing: "Policy processes provide windows of opportunity to discuss research results, highlight the importance of natural resources to the economy – and get impact," says Paul Guthiga. Guthiga is one of the EfD research fellows who were invited by Kenya´s Ministry of Finance to a public sector hearing held to discuss the draft budget proposal on Environment, Water and Sanitation for 2009-2011.

- 2009-05-26 Guthiga chose Kenya over Europe When Dr Paul Guthiga completed his thesis, he chose to return home to Kenya and join the EfD despite having been offered a post doc position at the Centre for Development Research, University of Bonn, Germany, where he studied.

- 2008-10-24 EfD involved in AERC Conference The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) was hosting an international conference on Natural Resource Management and Climate Change in Sub-Saharan Africa 15-17 September 2008 in Nairobi. EfD Kenya was assisting to organize the workshop.
- 2008-10-14 EfD Kenya presented research at international congress on biodiversity Dr. Paul Guthiga of EfD-Kenya recently attended and presented research at an international congress on biodiversity held in South Africa, BIOTA Africa Congress 2008. More than 350 policy-makers, scientists, land users and other stakeholders from 20 African countries, Brazil and Germany discussed solutions for the challenges to Africa’s basis for survival – biological diversity – at Stellenbosch, South Africa from September 29 to October 3.
