McRae, Shaun

Shaun McRae is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Centro de Investigación Económica at ITAM in Mexico City. He has a Ph.D. (2010) in Economics from Stanford University.

Research Interests

Shaun’s main research fields are energy economics and industrial organization. His work focuses on the design of wholesale and retail electricity markets, particularly how innovative retail tariff structures can be used to achieve both development and environmental objectives. He has also studied the behavior of consumers and firms in retail gasoline markets. 

Mentoring

Shaun has advised three Master’s theses and more than 20 undergraduate theses, mostly on topics related to energy economics and industrial organization. He has been a committee member on six Ph.D. theses.
