Tabaré was a research assistant at EfD-CA from 2012 to 2016. He worked mainly on farmer's adaptation to climate change, water availability and climate change, fisheries, and payments for ecosystem services. He is currently a PhD Student in Economics at the University of Wyoming, focusing on behavioral, environmental, and food economics.
He is still working with EfD researchers in topics related to Marine Protected Areas and Community Water Organisations.
